Protein Balls Recipe

Feel free to customize this recipe to suit your taste preferences and dietary needs. Whether you're looking for a post-workout snack or a healthy treat during the day, these protein balls are a delicious and satisfying option.

Ingredients:

1 cup old-fashioned oats

1/2 cup nut butter (almond butter, peanut butter, or your choice)

1/3 cup honey or maple syrup

1/2 cup protein powder (vanilla or chocolate flavored)

1/2 cup ground flaxseed

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

A pinch of salt

Optional add-ins: dark chocolate chips, chopped nuts, dried fruit

Process:

Combine Dry Ingredients:

In a large bowl, combine oats, protein powder, ground flaxseed, and a pinch of salt. Mix well to ensure even distribution.

Add Wet Ingredients:

Add the nut butter, honey (or maple syrup), and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Stir until the mixture is well combined.

Incorporate Optional Add-ins:

If desired, fold in any optional add-ins such as dark chocolate chips, chopped nuts, or dried fruit. These add extra flavor and texture.

Chill the Mixture:

Place the mixture in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes. Chilling makes it easier to shape the mixture into balls.

Shape into Balls:

After chilling, take small portions of the mixture and roll them between your hands to form compact balls. Aim for a size that's easy to handle and bite-sized.

Store or Enjoy:

Place the protein balls on a parchment-lined tray or plate. Once shaped, you can either store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for longer shelf life or enjoy them immediately.

Variations:

Get creative with different coatings such as shredded coconut, cocoa powder, or crushed nuts. Roll the protein balls in these coatings before refrigerating for an extra layer of flavor.

Nutritional Boost:

Experiment with adding chia seeds, hemp seeds, or your favorite superfoods for an extra nutritional boost.
