Madison’s Best Late Night Eats

Whether I am out with friends, or busy studying for what feels like the 5th midterm of the semester, I’m always a night owl. For a place with close to 300,000 people, you would think there would be more places to grab a late-night snack. Sure, we have Gopuff, and a select few places to eat late on the weekend, but Madison is lacking in the late night eats department. I have highlighted some of my favorite picks out of our slim options. However, keep in mind, some of these hours listed are inconsistent, and the delivery options are even more limited. Madison is filled with night owls like me, and more late night options will be beneficial to students, businesses and the community as well.  

Conrad’s Grill

Hours: Tuesday, Wednesday, Sunday: 11 A.M- 2 A.M

         Thursday-Saturday:11 A.M- 3 A.M

Conrad’s claims “When nothing but the best will do, come to our Madison lunch restaurant for specialty wraps full of down-home goodness like mac & cheese bites, French toast sticks, or our meaty Jemalty with chicken, ham, and bacon. Think double tots, extra dressing — the whole enchilada”. This sums up Conrad’s wraps to a tee and my mouth is already watering from reading it. I can assure you that it is not only a lunch restaurant. 

Ian’s Pizza

Hours: Monday-Wednesday: 11:00 A.M- 10:00 P.M

         Thursday-Saturday: 11:00 A.M- 2:30 A.M

Ian’s is a staple of Madison. People come from all over to try their famous Mac and Cheese pizza. This pizza consists of crème sauce, mozzarella, macaroni noodles, & cheddar to make the cheesiest, most delicious slice. You can order a pie or a slice, but if you are with friends, I suggest a pie because they will definitely be stealing bites. Depending on the time or day of the week, the line can be out the door. I would suggest ordering ahead or prepare your hungry stomachs to wait awhile. 

Eat The Best Pizza

Hours: Monday-Sunday: 11:00 A.M- 4:00 A.M

This new pizza joint may be Ian’s newest competition. Eat The Best opened just a few weeks ago. Not only are their hours amazing, but the staff could not be any friendlier. If you don’t look hard enough for this place you might just miss it. It is located underneath the bookstore. If you are familiar with where the old Subway used to be, it is in the same location. I’ve only tried this place once, but I had a great experience and am eager to go back.

Paul’s Pel’Meni

Hours: Monday-Wednesday: 11:00 A.M- 10:30 P.M

Thursday: 11:00 A.M- 2:00 A.M

Friday- Saturday: 11:00 A.M- 3:00 A.M

Sunday: 11:00 A.M-9:00 P.M

Although I have never been here, Paul’s Pel’meni is known for their Russian-style dumplings. Their menu is limited – only beef or potato dumplings – but I’ve only heard great reviews. The service is fairly quick and food is inexpensive. I am excited to try this place next time I am craving food late at night.
